Reflection
My favorite project to create was the organic pinch pot. This is my favorite because we each got to choose a different unique design to make. We also had freedom in making the organic pinchot because there were different ways in making it. I struggled a lot with the pinch pot. I struggled the most with the pinch pot because it was our first pot we have made, and also because I could never get the movement right. I would struggle with the thickness and how even the sides were. Sometimes my thumb would not be in the center so I would have to start over. I overcame this because I kept on trying and did not give up and I finally made the right pinch pot. When I first came into ceramics I did not really know how to make anything. I knew a little behind it but not that much. Once we started to make things my use of clay got better and easier. I have learned a lot about ceramics and the history of it through the whole class that I did not know I would think I knew. I improved my skills from the first day to the last day. At the beginning I had no clue what I was doing and at the end of the class I could explain to someone else how each of the projects were made, and the steps you had to do for them. My smoothed coil vase and Exposed coil are most alike. I think this because for each of these pots we had to make coils and scratch and attach them on top of each other. Overall, my first semester of ceramics was amazing. I never thought that I would of gotten this far into ceramics. From not knowing anything to knowing how to do everything this class has taught me so much.
